Terms of Use

By downloading or using GetOffThatScreen (“the App”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.

1. What the App does

GetOffThatScreen helps you reduce your phone use with app limits, scheduled blocks, focus sessions, an AI coach, and optional accountability groups. It uses Apple’s Screen Time (FamilyControls) on your device to enforce limits and blocks, with your permission.

2. Not professional advice

The App and its AI coach provide general wellbeing suggestions only. They are not medical, psychological, or professional advice. Use your own judgement; for health concerns, consult a qualified professional.

3. AI coach

Coach responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Don’t rely on them for important decisions. Messages you send to the coach are processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Groups and user-generated content

Groups let you share limited accountability data (your name, avatar and daily goal status) with people you invite. When you use groups you agree that:

• You will choose a display name and group name that are not offensive, hateful, sexual, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, and that don’t impersonate others or infringe anyone’s rights.
• There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. We may remove content, and remove or block users, without notice.
• You can hide or report any member from within the App. Reports go to support@getoffthatscreen.app; we review them and act — typically within 24 hours — including removing content and ejecting abusive users.
• You are responsible for the content you submit and for keeping your invite codes with people you trust.

5. Subscriptions (GetOffThatScreen Pro)

• Pro is an auto-renewing subscription offered as an annual or monthly plan, with an introductory 7-day free trial where shown.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, it renews automatically at the then-current price.
• Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Prices are shown in the App and may vary by region; refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.

6. Acceptable use

Use the App only for your own personal, lawful purposes. Don’t attempt to reverse engineer, abuse, or overload the service (including the AI coach or the groups backend).

7. No guarantee of results

The App is a tool to help you change habits. We can’t guarantee any particular outcome, and Screen Time enforcement depends on Apple’s systems and your device settings.

8. Availability

We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. Some features require an internet connection (the AI coach, groups) or a compatible, up-to-date device with an iCloud account signed in.

9. Disclaimer & liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
